Family Restoration Center doTERRA Update

December 28, 2020

Hello to our FMF family!

This year of 2020 has brought with it interesting times.  Indeed, while it has looked nothing like we imagined at the outset (fewer teams coming over, literacy centers closed much of the year, etc.), it has also gifted us with massive new opportunities (COVID-19 relief food projects and the Family Restoration Center).

You have heeded the call and blessed the lives of MANY!  You have given hope to families in their struggles, created hands up that will move mountains in the coming months.

Overall, we are just so grateful for your support, your generous hearts, and your willingness to help out.  We are overwhelmed and humbled.

FMF Updates:

FRC: The progress we have seen with Family Restoration Center this year is nothing short of miraculous!  We have been able to complete the purchase of the property AND restore 5 of the buildings so far.  This week, we are pouring the foundation for the toilet facility that will serve up to 40. We are beyond grateful for your generosity!

We are continuing to prepare for the trafficking survivors arriving through Operation Underground Railroad in the next few weeks.  Electricity is being upgraded, beds have been ordered, and teachers and staff are in place.  Our garden continues to progress, and we have added 2 guard dogs, 2 new baby goats, and 5 turkey chicks in the last few weeks.  It is wonderful to see the FRC come back to life as it fulfills its purpose.

The goal from the beginning of the year, merely a dream, is right on schedule – to have Phase II of the FRC fully operational by the end of 2020.  Thanks to YOU, that is now our reality!

FLC: All family literacy centers will be opening at the beginning of the year once school resumes. We are even adding a few more!  Not bad, considering the world has been shut down most of the year!  Thank you!

What’s Next?:

· FRC: Complete the training center for ongoing business & skills trainings (furnishings already donated), chicken coop construction, additional staff hired, aftercare for OUR.

· FRC: Implementation of Phase III (stay tuned!)

· Community skills trainings across all our FMF communities. (Collaboration with Engage Now Africa)

· Expansion of programs across current literacy centers (i.e. “Mom School”, sewing school, etc.)

2021 is sure to be EXCITING!

Team Expeditions:

While this year has been rough on expeditions, we have been blessed this fall with 2 groups of visitors, and we are grateful!

If you or anyone you know is interested in coming to Africa to serve with FMF, please send them our way!  We are building out 2021 expeditions NOW and would love to have you!

Expedition Schedule for 2021: Spring (April), June, July, September, November

Please donate:

As always, your contribution means the world to us! It is literally the life blood of what we are able to accomplish at Families Mentoring Families.

This is the time of year where people, desiring to make a difference holiday season, look for places to give.  (A last minute tax-deduction is never a bad idea, either.)

With FMF (a registered 501c3), you can be certain that your contribution goes directly to projects…feeding people, running the Family Restoration  Center, reuniting families, caring for street children and women coming out of trauma, building “Mom Schools”, and other village projects.  Every dime makes a difference!

Also an Amazon Smile reminder:

If you are an Amazon shopper, we would love your support - and it won’t cost you a dime!

Go to smile.amazon.com and select Families Mentoring Families (Spanish Fork, UT) as your charity of choice,  Amazon will then send us a small percentage of the price of your purchase (with no additional out-of-pocket cost to you).  Every little bit helps.  Every dime makes a difference!
